May 13

We now have less than 1 month before the big day of our dual sport and adventure ride.

The momentum and interest has been building not only from our club members  but  also from 100+ riders that have already pre-entered and corresponded through e-mail and phone calls.

Things have been going smoothly with the forestry department.  Some of the route sections have been changed or modified due to erosion problems but in trade they have offered us some new and interesting trails to use.

KTM has been quite active with the planning this year due to the help from Mark Hyde who is not only the man in charge of the national enduros but also the dual sport and adventure bike rides.  He is planning on bringing the full KTM support factory truck and some of the top national and international riders to motivate and support our weekend event.

We have a pretty cool new t-shirt design for this year so make sure you pre-enter so you get one free! We also are adding some ladies and kids shirts this year ( you can use a t-shirt as a bribe so your family  let’s you come to the event). J

Last weekend a large group of Dabber trials riders went out with the forestry department and established a new trail for our use that after this event will become a permanent trail to be used for hiking and horse back riding enthusiasts.

We are planning on having one more major update before the day of our event  but if there are any questions please feel free to contact us at durtydabbers.com.

See you all soon!!

DURTY DABBER BOYS TRAIN IN KENTUCKY

Durty Dabbers, Trials Comments Off on DURTY DABBER BOYS TRAIN IN KENTUCKY

Logan Bolopue, Durty Dabber member and  RYP Sherco sponsored team rider and Hunter Weaver Durty Dabbers and Scorpa sponsored rider traveled to the Ryan Young Products facility in March for a week of spring break training with 6 time USA National Trials Champion and owner of RYP,  Ryan Young. The boys were hosted by Brad Baumert and his family at their home in Louisville when they were not on the road with Ryan training.

The boys were fortunate enough to hitch a ride to Kentucky with Jerry “Forever” young, father of Ryan.  Word has it the boys have Jerry’s taste in music converted to Buck Cherry, Godsmack and other rock groups as they had the radio cranked for the 11 hours it took them to get from PA to KY.  Jerry spent the week recovering his hearing,  visiting relatives, riding with the gang and taking pictures of Ryan and the boys in action.

The week started out somewhat cold and rainy which the PA boys are used to coming off the cold hard winter we have had in the East.  But as the week progressed the weather improved with dry, sunny conditions.

The rain and cold however did not alter Ryan’s training schedule. The boys rode all day from about 10am to 5 pm regardless of the conditions. No whining allowed!!

The team drove up to Indiana to ride for a few days on some “awesome terrain” as the boys described it as well as riding near the RYP shop in KY.

The Sherco riders participating for the week were, Pro Riders Bryan Roper from Arizona and Florida rider Karl Davis Jr., Expert rider Logan Bolopue from PA, 125 Expert rider Sam Fastle from New Mexico along with High School Scorpa rider Hunter Weaver from PA.

Check out the youtube video tour of RYP which will give you a good look inside and out of the shop in Louisville and all that goes on there.     Vlog#1- Tour of RYP

Another cool thing to check out is the radio interviews conducted by Brad Baumert Manager of RYP  USA LLC.

There are 13 different interviews with the first group of spring break trainees along with  Jerry and Ryan Young, Shan Moore of T & E News, Phil Baumert and trials great David Chaves to name a few.  Check back  periodically to RYP Radio as there will be  more interviews with the next spring break participants and many other trials riders.  Very interesting interviews conducted so far. Go to rypusa.com and click on the RYP Radio link in the upper right corner.

The training with Ryan Young will continue as Ryan travels back home to PA for a  trials school with the Durty Dabber Club  the first weekend in April.
